	Your school’s AI roadmap: a practical framework for building an AI policy step by step — from a first classroom contract to a fully-fledged school-level AI policy, anchored in the Digiplan (Belgium’s compulsory ICT policy plan from September 2026).

Copilot is already present in the Microsoft tools you use every day. But knowing where to find it and actually getting it to save you real time are two different things. In this session you discover how to use Copilot as a genuine personal assistant — for lesson preparation, communication, meetings, and administrative tasks.

No prompting jargon, no abstract theory. You work directly in your own Microsoft 365 environment with realistic examples from school practice.

Programme

	Copilot in Microsoft 365: where Copilot lives (Word, Teams, Outlook, OneNote, Edge), what it can and cannot do, and how it handles your school data securely (GDPR and Microsoft’s data protection).
	Copilot for lesson preparation: generating a lesson structure from a topic or description, adapting texts for different reading levels, creating quizzes and exercises, summarising long documents, and translating materials.
	Copilot for communication and administration: drafting emails and newsletters, summarising meeting notes in Teams, creating agendas, and improving feedback texts for parents or students.
	Responsible use: setting AI use rules per assignment in Teams, teaching students to work transparently with AI, and what a practical classroom contract looks like.

Reading Coach and Reading Progress

Reading Coach and Reading Progress are two powerful Microsoft tools that are often overlooked — or only partially used. Together they form a complete loop: students practice reading independently with direct AI feedback, while the teacher monitors progress at class and individual level.

In this session you discover how both tools work, how they reinforce each other, and how to embed them in a broader reading policy at your school.

Programme

	The reading loop: why independent reading practice with immediate feedback works, how Reading Coach and Reading Progress complement each other, and what the research base is behind these tools.
	Reading Coach in practice: activate Reading Coach in Teams assignments, choose between the three modes (generate a story with AI, select a text from the library, or insert your own text), use the Immersive Reader, set the difficulty level, and interpret the AI feedback that students receive in real time.
	Reading Progress in practice: create a reading assignment in Teams, collect recordings from students, use automatic speech analysis (pronunciation, accuracy, words per minute), give targeted feedback, and monitor progress per student at class level.
	Speaker Progress: how Speaker Progress helps students practise presentations independently — with automatic feedback on pace, filler words, and eye contact. A powerful complement to reading practice.
	School-wide reading policy: how to embed Reading Coach and Reading Progress structurally in your reading policy — from a first experiment in one class to a school-wide approach with shared agreements.
	Link with wellbeing: how Reading Progress data can open conversations about reading motivation and confidence, and how to link it to Microsoft Reflect for a broader picture of student wellbeing.

A class that feels good learns better. That is not a feeling — that is research. Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) — the acquisition of knowledge, attitudes, and skills to effectively deal with emotions, relationships, and responsibilities — demonstrably improves focus, group dynamics, and openness to talking about feelings.

Microsoft Reflect is the free Microsoft tool that makes SEL accessible, language-independent, and directly usable in Teams. In this session you build the theoretical foundation around the five SEL competencies, learn to use Reflect as a thoughtful learning line from kindergarten to secondary school, and turn the data that Reflect generates into real classroom conversations.

Programme

	SEL as a foundation: definition and research base of Social-Emotional Learning. The five SEL competencies. What language and verbalisation contribute to self-management. How SEL leads to less stress, better focus, and a stronger group dynamic in the classroom.
	Reflect in practice: activating Reflect in Teams, creating a first check-in, setting up the emotion board (also usable without student devices), building up the number of emotions (from basic emotions to 18 and further to 56). Integrating Reflect into Teams assignments and the Class Notebook. How to use check-in results during the school day.
	From kindergarten to secondary: concrete and achievable applications adapted to every level.
	Insights: interpreting Reflect data via Insights, tracking emotional trends per class, discussing results with the team or student. How do you link wellbeing data to your professional development and care policy?

Microsoft works from one principle: design for those who need it most, and everyone benefits. What helps a student with dyslexia to read also helps the distracted student, the multilingual student, and the teacher themselves. Inclusion is not a retrofit — it is the standard.

This session is designed for teachers and SENCOs in special education and inclusive schools. We explore which Microsoft tools support students with and without specific needs, how to deploy them in the classroom, and how Copilot helps you adapt lesson materials and step-by-step plans to individual students.

Programme

	Inclusion as a foundation: the UDL framework (Universal Design for Learning), Microsoft’s inclusion philosophy (built into every app, not as an extra layer), and an overview of all learning accelerators and accessibility tools — and where to find them in Teams, Windows, and the Microsoft apps.
	Immersive Reader & accessibility tools: the Immersive Reader in Word, OneNote, Teams and Edge (syllabification, text-to-speech, colour and font adjustment, translate into 81 languages). Dictation for students who struggle with writing. Live captions for auditory support. Accessibility checker in Word and PowerPoint.
	Reading Coach & Reading Progress: Reading Coach lets students practise independently and at their own pace, in three modes (generate a story, select a library text, or insert your own text), with the Immersive Reader built in and direct AI feedback. Reading Progress gives the teacher class-level monitoring and data per student.
	Reflect & the emotion board: Reflect as a daily check-in ritual for wellbeing and social-emotional learning. The emotion board — a particularly powerful feature for special education: students choose an image that represents their feeling, even without their own device; one teacher device is enough.
	Copilot for inclusive lesson design: adapting reading level to individual students, reformulating complex instructions into simple steps, creating step-by-step plans for daily skills and independence (packing a lunchbox, filling in a diary, tidying the classroom). You don’t need to be a developer to build a real application. With vibe coding, where you describe what you want in plain language and AI does the programming work, you’ll build a working full-stack web app on Azure in one day. From database to user interface, from deployment to your own domain.

This bootcamp is for teachers and ICT coordinators who want to understand how modern applications work, who want to build their own internal tool or learning platform, or who want to guide their students in computational thinking and AI-assisted development.

Programme

	From idea to blueprint: you formulate a concrete app idea (an internal dashboard, a student registration tool, an FAQ chatbot…), describe the desired functionality in plain language and let GitHub Copilot generate a first architecture.
	Building with GitHub Copilot: you don’t write code, you describe. GitHub Copilot generates the front-end (HTML/CSS/JS or React), the back-end (Node or Python) and the database connection. You review, adjust and understand what is being built.
	Deploying on Azure: you take your application live on Microsoft Azure, with Azure App Service for the web application, Azure SQL or Cosmos DB for data, and Azure Static Web Apps for the front-end. Including GitHub Actions for automatic deployment.
	Security and management: log in via Microsoft account (SSO with Entra ID), set permissions per user and monitor via Azure Portal. Your app is immediately secure for school use.
